ABOUT HERMNAUS

Hermanus is picturesque!  Kevin & Carol's hearts were captured at first acquaintance.

Hermanus was originally called Hermanuspietersfontein, but shortened as the name was too long for the postal service.

Hermanus is on the southern coast of the Western Cape and is world renowned for great wine, stunning
mountain biking, beautiful fynbos and whale watching during the southern hemisphere winter and spring. The
whales can be seen from the cliffs in the town center as early as June and they usually depart in early December.

Hermanus is approximately 115 km southeast of Cape Town.
It is connected by the R44, which is one of the most scenic routes on the planet.  Get a glimpse
here. Read more about the R44. From Rooi-els the drive to Betty's Bay onto Kleinmond is breathtaking.  With Hermanus nestled between mountain and sea as your final destination.
